Your Sunshine’s Board of Directors help guide and support our organization’s mission by overseeing the organization’s operations, strategic direction, and fiscal health. Each board member is tasked with strengthening programs and services, enhancing the reputation of the organization, increasing its visibility and importance to the community, and ensuring that the “heart” of the organization is present in all that we do every day.

Ms. Martynova, Founder and President, is responsible for growing Your Sunshine from its current stage to a more mature organization capable of delivering on its long-term vision. With her vast expertise in administration, coordination, business operations, project management, leadership, finance, accounting, and education, she ensures that operations, fundraising, marketing, human resource, technology, and programmatic strategies are successfully implemented across all segments of the organization.
Ms. Martynova has had a lifelong commitment to service and she has devoted significant time and effort to improving the lives of others, especially children and youth with special needs. She received the President’s Volunteer Service Award of 2005 in recognition and appreciation of commitment to strengthening and making a difference in the nation through volunteer service. She has earned certificates of completion of leadership enhancement training, and received awards of academic achievements in recognition of academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and leadership potential.

Ms. Martynova combines her passion for education with a strong business and finance background, including nearly 8 years of financial and accounting management experience. Ms. Martynova earned her BA from the George Washington University in Finance and Sport, Event, & Hospitality Management. Every day, Ms. Martynova puts all her effort and passion into self-mastery and providing effective guidance to children, youth, and their wonderful parents, as well as to other educators.
She is inspired to go with each of them along their journey of self-discovery and lasting personal growth. Having traversed a similar path in her own life, Ms. Martynova truly hopes that this journey will assist individuals by allowing them to find key answers to various questions that have hindered and stymied their growth and development while enabling them to further open up their natural potential and talents. She empowers each individual to delve deeper into the vast untapped potential of the brain, and serves as a competent guide in exploring the infinite abilities of each mind to make a positive change in the world.
As a conscious artist, writer, choreographer, kids yoga instructor, special needs kids yoga instructor, adults yoga instructor, post traumatic stress disorder yoga instructor, former gymnast, former tennis player, and former dancer, Ms. Martynova and Your Sunshine actively facilitate and foster a more creative, artistic, organic, and dynamic way of exploring the art of living well.

Mr. Michael serves as a board member and Treasurer. He devotes his time to the organization by being responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction, management of all aspects of financial reporting, and new business development efforts. He oversees the refinement and implementation of the overall strategic plan, while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with organization’s mission.
Mr. Michael has expertise in managing a wide variety of financial transactions, including mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, roll-up and spin-off transactions, public offerings, debt and equity secured lending transactions, and financial restructurings. His communication skills are a crucial asset in negotiating a wide range of business and marketing arrangements. Mr. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the George Washington.

EVGENIYA (GENE) MARTYNOVA
Ms. Evgeniya Martynova (Gene) provides inspirational leadership and direction to ensure the continued development and efficient management of the organization. She conducts on-going assessments and research to establish effective strategies to achieve the organization’s objectives. She executes the comprehensive marketing and development plan to ensure consistency of message and delivery throughout the organization and to secure investment from major donors and sponsors.
Ms. Gene has dedicated the past decade of her professional life to public service, managerial work, and holistic therapy. In the past, she has served as the President for International Organization at the Trinity University. This service was aiming to bringing local and international students together to express their abilities, talents and skills through various workshops and cultural events. All the fundraising events were directed to support homeless shelters and the indigent at local churches communities.
She has devoted significant time and resources in volunteer work to effect beneficial societal changes especially through the forum of policy including working for the Presidential Inauguration event coordinated by the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, performing volunteer service for the Mitt Romney for President Campaign (CPAC Conservative Political Action Conference), and volunteering for President Obama’s visit to GWU where he addressed the Jack Morton Auditorium of over 250+ including several members of Congress, Vice-President Joe Biden, and U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in Washington DC. In all of these activities, her unwavering focus was to gain access to policy-makers who are in the best position to deliver meaningful and progress to arenas of life that serve the needs of those members of society who are less fortunate.
In addition to her dedicated public service, Ms. Gene also brings strong leadership and proven management experience, having served as a supervisor and administrative assistant to DC Public Charter Schools and Universities while supporting management in hiring, training, and administrative projects. Ms. Gene earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration & Public Policy from the George Washington University and M.B.A., Master’s in Business Administration. During her time in academia, she invested her time in further developing skills and experience by working at the University Newspaper in marketing and sales, supervising and organizing groups, children’s projects, students’ programs, and community development initiatives. Currently, she is in the process of developing her own brand LAVA LOTUS, a carefully crafted and curated line of natural products including teas, herbal supplements, healthcare and superfoods, as well as select cosmetics.
A life-long scholar of the healing arts and sciences, Ms. Gene harnesses her passion for healthy living by consistently striving to expand vital skills in a wide range of related fields. As an Intuitive Life Guide, Energy Worker, Herbalist, and Counselor she has helped hundreds of adults and children with special needs in their unique journeys of healing. She is a certified Energy Healer through the Energy ALIVE® healing modality, a practitioner of the USUI REIKI SYSTEM (Usui Shiki Ryoho) of NATURAL HEALING (Golden RAY Healing); and a certified Quantum-Touch healer. Additionally, she is in the process of working on developing her own modality in the area of Sound Healing and related therapeutic methodologies. Also, as an ordained minister, she serves local communities in Northern VA, DC, MD; Honolulu & Kona, Hawaii.

Ms.Perchikova is a board member and Secretary with extensive experience in finance, administration, and accounting. She is responsible to ensure the accuracy and transparency of documentation and legal requirements. She also assists to oversee the financial status of the organization including developing long and short range financial plans, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls are in place.
Ms. Perchikova has over 20 years of expertise in monitoring financial transactions, distribution of grant funds, accounts payable, budget, payroll, purchasing, preparing monthly financial reports to donors, preparing for the annual financial audit, budget tracking, and maintenance of the organization’s finances. She has earned many achievements in supporting the finance department and administration in complex daily operations and implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Mariya has a special love for all children and she has a broad and varied community service background to serve children with special needs. She is passionate about educating children in a safe, interactive, and loving environment. Currently, Ms. Perchikova organizes craft classes for kids at no cost and encourages them to think creatively, unconventionally, and from different perspectives.
